^Our den is the kitty play room. Half the room is covered in cat stuff, the other half is our pcs - since they all like to be around us often.
When you talk about your cats to almost everyone, much like people do about their children. You're sure they're sick of hearing about your cats... Other dedicated pet owners (cat or dog) seem to be the ones you relate to best.
DH does this, too.
Oh no, not like that - Rusty fit back then. More like an oversized cat trying to cram itself in there. Tomas will shove himself into small boxes and bags and think he fits if he can get up to his shoulders... never mind that his butt hangs out. Sherman tries too, but just gets stuff stuck on his head.

When your vet makes a housecall as you can no longer bring in all the "kids" at once without a small army and says Do you live here too? because there is a wall of cat furniture in your living room, a cat room and your bedroom also has a cat furniture wall

everytime before you leave the house you do a tail count to make sure no kitty got stuck in a closet.
when you're carring the laundry basket, you subconciously walk in a slide-shuffle so you don't step on any cats or their toys.

It's positively freezing but you have the window open just because your Kitty wants it.

You live alone (except for the cats) but talk out loud all day and all night long....telling everything to the cats!
(I sometimes wonder what my landlord is thinking, I know he must hear me chatting away hehe)

Almost every one of these is true for us... though we do not have an empty shelf with a picture of cat food on it. However, we do have an empty cupboard... with a cat bed in it!
When you have to carefully extract yourself from your recliner, without putting down the foot rest because kitty is sleeping on it. That gets harder as you get older.
you know your a cat person when....the first "person" you talk to when you get in is the (or multiple) cat and not your partner - its the same for me and blaine we talk to each other after saying hello to the "kids"
and....when you look at the bed giggle at the amount of fur after a cat play fight and just brush the thick of it off for the night haha

Your cat shelves are pretty awesome. Your cats are lucky. I'd like to do this, but need some money for shelves first. Did the shelves come with the mounting hardware, or did you make your own shelf system?Originally Posted by carolinalima
