I agree. You can pick up a cat for almost nothing, just like you can buy a rabbit or gerbil gor almost nothing. So people don't want to spend money on a pet they can replace cheaply. However, I am just as attached to my cats as I am to my dog, I cannot imagine not doing whatever I could to keep them healthy and well. I can't imagine myself thinking, well I can just get a cat anywhere. Yeah maybe I could but it wouldn't be Schweppie or Little Guy. It wouldn't be right or humane for me to devalue the pets I brought into my home and life just because I got them for a.good price or free. Each of my pets give me joy and love in their own way and have their own personalities and quirks- I can't replace that with money. Im sure I will have another dog or cat but it will have its own way of enriching myy life so yeah, no way I could just say do away with him.
