That's scary. It stopped raining here and the sun has even come out but I think it's still windy. I cant see any trees from my office but every now and then I hear a gust of wind. I think I'll stay off the M62 this weekend. Last weekend I travelled from Manchester to Leeds on it and it's the highest motorway in England. Very exposed and it was scary as gusts of wind would suddenly pull my car to one side.Originally Posted by mooficat

A man, from Bridgnorth, Shropshire has been killed after a tree branch smashed through his car windsreen in gale-force gusts. Winds of between 60mph and 70mph are battering Wales and Northern Ireland and England - with gusts in some areas reaching over 80mph.
