Cats are smart. They learn from previous experiences. Maybe too smart.
Okay, so now I've set it up, how do I get Punky from spitting out the liquid medicine?
It is Day 3 of a 5-day treatment of Flagyl, and I have finally learned to wrap him in a blanket or towel (after suffering major scratches on Day 1). And Punky has figured out the routine.
He is spit out the medicine this afternoon. He's not spitting out all of it - he is having to swallow some. That's good.
But he clinches his jaw so tightly now that it's harder to get the syringe in. And he fights me like a demon. And he has learned to spit.
The good news is the Flagyl is having the desired effect, he isn't having the runny squats. But I need to make sure he swallows the entire dose & it's getting harder to do that.
Your ideas are welcome.
