Hi forum,

My cat has had diarrhea and recently changed to Farmina digestive wet food and a bit of dry. Jury is still out whether it helps with diarrhea but one thing for sure is the wet food is just so pricy. My cat needs two cans and thats 5 bucks a meal.

Any recommendations on good digestive brands besides Farmina that have helped your cats with digestive issues?

Thank you in advance for any feedback!

Thank you yes i have purchased it based on recommendations on this site. I kind of want to test them separately to see what works. So right now still testing farmina and at some point will add in the probiotics.

diarrhea can be caused by so many things, and they are not all foods. Has your cat already been to the Vet and been tested for worms, parasites, etc to make sure it isn't anything else aside from food? What food(s) was he on before the diarrhea started and what have you tried since it started? If he is on "a bit of dry", is that a new food also? Did you transition to that slowly if it is new? We really need more information here in order to try to help you out.

He had a surgery that removed part of his intestine, diarrhea happened ever since. farmina actually helped a little bit but again Jury is still out.

The vet did say this is normal because of the surgery but 3 months later maybe it is not so normal. He is going to see a specialist soon but for now I would like to get him some food that is good for digestion.

Depending on how much of his intestines were removed, and what part(s), diarrhea could be an ongoing part of his life. I think a specialist is a good idea to see what they think.

Oh no thats not what i want to hear 🥲

The specialist is in the same clinic so i will be able to ask about details of the surgery.

Still looking for recommendations for good digestion focus food, dont want to use Purina or Hills. Thank you everyone!

Since this was caused by surgery I really do think the specialist is going to be your best resource, however, here are some brands that make digestive foods:

Go! Digestive + Gut Health
Wellness Core Digestive Health (comes in both dry AND canned)
Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Gatrointestinal Fiber Response (comes in dry AND canned)
Iams Proactive Health Sensitive Digestion & Skin
Blue Buffalo Tastefuls Sensitive Stomach
Solid Gold Winged Tiger with Quail & Pumpkin Grain-Free Sensitive Stomach
Royal Canin Feline Health Nutrition Sensitive Digestion
Forza10 Nutraceutic Active Intestinal Support Diet
Blue Buffalo Natural Veterinary Diet GI Gastrointestinal Support (comes in both dry and canned)

Let us know what the specialist say. We're always interested in this type of thing.
