Life's Abundance dry and Science Diet wet
If you can get it .. royal canin sensible choice makes canned , not sure of the flavor but ingrediants are good and my older cat liked it... as for the hairballs , you need the simplier Nutro reg natural choice likely... I dont think chn soup makes a hairball or simple formula... Can you get natural balence??Originally Posted by Ragdollmommy
Currently our cat eats Nutro Natural Choice Indoor Formula dry food. However, I'm looking to possibly switch her food. She got a huge hairball and she's never had problems with hairballs in the past. I previously fed her the C & R's Sensible Choice but she grew out of it or something as she quit eating it thus my reason for switching to Nutro. Her breeder recommended Eukanuba Hairball formula but the ingredients IMO are inferior to the Nutro and Chicken Soup for the Soul (which I am considering). So, for now I am introducing canned food to supplement the dry and she picks at them at best. I've tried: Merrick's "Southern Delight", California Natural's "Deep Water Fish", Wellness' "Sardines, Shrimp & Crab" and Nutro Max Cat's "Salmon & Whitefish". I've stuck with the fish varieties because she loves (human) canned tuna which we treat her with maybe once a week, if that. The chicken or turkey ones she won't eat. Our pet store discontinued the Solid Gold canned lined due to low sales so the above brands are what I have to choose from.
Any ideas?
Have you tried the wet pouches? Lucas won't touch the canned pate stuff, but he loves the pouches (finish them off in seconds!). Since she likes the canned tuna (which is not the pate consistency) she might enjoy the bits and pieces that the pouches offer.Originally Posted by Ragdollmommy

I'll check the regular Nutro. Chicken Soup told me that they add cellulose (which they said is a fiber) to their food and that aids in the prevention of hairballs. Though their bag doesn't make any claims about hairball control so I will have to check it out.. Yes, I can get Natural Balance (that is what our dog is on). I've compared the Chicken Soup line and the Natural Balance line at the food wizard and they are very similar.Originally Posted by sharky
