~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just went and enrolled this week, and I had a hell of a time finding classes that were open, that I hadnt already taken. My financial aid requires that I keep a full-time schedule, so I ended up taking classes I dont really need. I am currently working toward both a associate nursing (RN) degree and I have already started working towards my Bio-Science degree(which is bachelor/Pre-Med)
I had to do a placement test in Reading, Writing, and Math since I am new to this college, and I was so happy...
I got the maximum score in Reading and Writing, and I placed on a Trigonometry level in Math(which I dont need for my nursing degree, but will need for my Bio-Science degree later on) So I will take that next semester.
So I am taking:
-Human Anatomy & Physiology
-Math for Health Careers
-Philosophy
-Developmental Psychology
-and I am fixing to add Overview of Nursing, it is only worth one credit, but I get an extra preference point towards my nursing program application!
I was just wondering what everyone else's fall school schedules(h.s. and college) looked like! And what your majoring/minoring in!
I'm majoring in psychology (no minor because I'm doing a specialised honours degree, which requires too many credits toward my major to have enough left to do a minor), my degree is a B.A. Hons.
My schedule this year is -
September-December:
Monday: Rehabilitation Psychology, 6:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M.
Tuesday: Statistical Methods II, 3:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M.
Wednesday: Intermediate Research Methods, 8:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M.
Thursday: Psychobiology, 9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.
Friday: Francais Ecrit I, 9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.
January-April:
Monday: Interpersonal and Intergroup Processes, 9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.
Tuesday: Theories and Techniques of Counselling, 1:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M.
Wednesday: Psychological Studies of Language, 9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.
Thursday: Perception, 12:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M
Friday: Francais Ecrit II, 9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.
Well this semester will be my last as an undergraduate, I get to graduate with my B.Sc. in Psychology in December!!! I can't wait, even though I'll just be starting again right away in the Spring, working on my masters.
Anyway, here's my schedule:
Group Psychotherapy: Only 10 person class, part lecture part actual psychotherapy with all of the students! EEK!
Interviewing and Counseling: Only 20 person class, I have NO idea what this will be like!
Physiological Psychology: HUGE lecture class. Unfortunately I've got it as a night class on Tuesday's 6-8:50. I always get SO tired in night classes!
I start pretty soon, on the 22nd!
Well, if I can EVER get registered for it, I'll be taking Inorganic Chemistry (GenChem) on MWF from 2-3 and 5 hrs of lab over two days elsewhere. Kinda shoots any chance of a dayshift job all to he!!, but oh well. I need it to advance to Organic next year.
I can't register for it right now because according to the server the class is full, and when I went to campus to get a written override, I found out that the professor is out of the COUNTRY until the week before school!!!! So I need to try and email her to see if she can send in something. This is the ONLY class I am taking this fall (5credits) unless I find a way around paying out-of-state tuition.
I'm pre-Pharmacy, this will be my second year of prerequisite undergrad work. Hopefully, if I get my transcript in order and all else goes well, I'll be accepted to the Pharmacy program for Fall '07.
A&P...oooooo...fun. Well I guess it wasn't that bad. I had a good professor, it just wasn't what I was really interested in - I just thought I was. I was in nursing for a year but I ended up getting my degree in Interior Design instead.
I'm in year #10, which is actually 9th grade. I did really good in everything but math last year, so I decided to re-take half the course again.
Well, I'm hopefully taking classes in the fall. It turns out that while I was in Italy, The University went and decided that I have not only been there for too long and couldn't register for classes, but that I haven't taken any classes since fall quarter (04-05).
Tommorow I visit campus with transcripts and rage.
Mostly rage.
Analytical and Organic chem. Every week day mornings, then working PMs. What was I thinking when i registered for this? I am 43 years old. I am not afraid of the classes, but I know that will require that I have a "lab partner". What young college student is going to want to be hooked up with an old bag like me? Thats whats scarry. Those first few days are going to be hard. I am aiming toward a masters in biotechnology. I have to spend a year making up prerequisites.
I'm starting my master's degree in the fall. Because I work full time I'll only be taking one 4-credit course:philosophy and Teaching of Reading. Starting in the fall of '06 I'll be taking about 12 credits/year, which will put me back in the full-time student category. The class I'm taking this semester meets on Mondays at 5:30pm and ends at 9:00pm.
If it's any consolation, I'm a young university student, and I'd much rather be paired with someone 'older' than another student my age, given the choice
- too many students my age are way too immature to be reliable as a partner for something like that!
Good luck!
