Ear Mites – 100% effective cure in cats with a single dose. Ear mites can live in a cat’s ear canal causing irritation and a black wax-like discharge. Ear mites account for the majority of ear infections in cats. Revolution is a topical application applied once to the back of the neck to cure ear mites.

So it claims to kill ear mites within a single dose, but it doesn't

Often what a manufacturer claims and what actually is the truth are 2 very different things. That's probably why my vet told me that it was a preventative not a treatment.

That's my guess. Otherwise what was the point of my vet giving 2 meds for the mites? But like most things, it's usually easier to prevent a problem than to treat it.
