Well we were hopeful, but things reversed and Mattie is still a very sick little girl.

She saw her ped today and he is extremely unhappy with the hospitals diagnosos of scabies and impetigo. He has seen both and does not believe she has them. He is very unhappy that the hospital did not admit her.

She had a bit of a rally this afternoon and was off the couch to play charades with her other gramma. But that was it. Her face looked good and as soon as they got to the drs it looked bad again. He told Mo (my daughter) that he is "this close" to admitting her but wants to give it a few more hours. He still thinks it's an allergic reaction to something. But what!!! If she feels Mattie needs to go to the hosp, he is on call and will admit her immediately. He hates to put any more meds in her. That could cloud up the picture.

Catmom2wires mentioned Stevens/Johnson synd. Good Lord, I hope that is not it. Mo mentioned this to him and he says he has heard of it. If all else fails, that is what he will look at.

So if you can please spare a prayer if you are inclined or vibes, please send some up for our Mattie girl. She loves her kitties and is a future member here. She is never without an animal near her.

I don't know how my daughter can hold up so well. I would have been committed by now. I still may be.

Thanks guys.

I'm sorry you and your family are going through this! It's so much harder when it's a child, poor girl! Sending vibes that they can figure it out and fix her SOON!

I am sorry it's continuing. I am also very concerned that he still will not entertain the thought about the zithromax. It is one of the WORST for causing SJS. PLEASE, if they get admitted, have your dd keep mentioning it to ANYONE and everyone she meets. I just have a feeling about this, as it's so classic sounding.

BTW, the reason I know about SJS is because my daughter is on a med that can cause it, so I got myself informed. It's pretty scary, especially if it is allowed to get out of hand.

Good luck.

Poor girl (& mom & family)! How frustrating. I really hope they find out what's going on quickly.

I hope she feels better soon! I'm sure her doctor has thought of everything, but could it be Kawasaki Disease? My cousin's son recently went through this and the symptoms sound similar (but not completely the same). I hope you get it figured out! Poor girl!

I'm taking a liberty, but FarleyV PM'd me this morning to say the little girl was en route to the hospital for admission.

Let's get some extra vibes going!

Thank you so much for all your kindness and concern for our Mattie.

She is being treated for Stevens Johnson Syndrome, a hideous thing. She is in the ICU at the hospital and is being treated like a burn patient would be. Doctors are scrambling to get all info they can on this and have called in a skin disease specialist.

I know the TCS prayers and vibes can do great things. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. The more the better. Her demeanor is fair, but she overheard a doctor say this could be serious and got a bit fearful.

Love all you guys! Will keep you updated.
