Patrick was 15 when diagnosed, and made it almost a full 4 years from that point. This is what is hard for me...I think I remember 1 cat making it 10 years with crf on the support list, even if I can help Frankie achieve that, she'd just be 12-13. Wah. I am going to cry about this and then I'm going to stop and do the best I can for her for whatever number of years we have.Originally Posted by booktigger
I am so sorry to hear about Frankie, she really is way too young to have something like this. I do hope that with your love and care, she gets the kind of lifespan Patrick did (his was longer than expected, wasn't it?). Fingers crossed that the tests show something that might help increase her lifespan.
Ah Jennifer...I wish I hadn't been right with my niggling fears. I am going to hope that she pulls a "we've never seen that before!" and perhaps with future tests she won't progress and they might adjust their diagnosis. Surely her starvation and whatever else happend during her time on her own outside, may have done damage, that maybe I can reverse a bit??Originally Posted by sharky
BIG...Miss Frankie you stay healthy and happy for many years to come .... All I can say is I am here when you need to talk Pat...
Thank you. I keep telling myself she used up at least one of her lives during her time trying to survive on her own, we'll make this life as wonderful as we can.Originally Posted by jcat
Pat, with your knowledge of and experience with CRF, she will probably have a much longer and more normal life with you than she otherwise would have.
