Many on the board will remember when we rescued Frankie, realizing that she was on her last legs. She was found to be healthy but starved, her initial weight with us was under 6 lb.
Her one "maybe" health issue was that her kidney values were slightly elevated and urine a bit dilute. So, every few months we've been checking her values to track was she's doing (they improved last time).
Took her in today (and...we finally solved what has been bothering the heck out of me. NO red lynx point should have a freckled nose and striped whiskers, but i could not find any cream toes, any variation in color. DH found it last night, both her front paw pads are freckled and if you look darn close, the coloration on one front paw has a lighter area. So, she is what I couldn't prove...a red tortie lynx
Who now weighs...13+ lbs. GULP.
Hopefully, her values will come back good, as they did last time.
Tyler was also taken in today, checking to see status of his T4, hoping this last and final increase in medication works, if not, we can try another med or discuss doing the radioactive iodine tx (something I'm not in favor of to be honest). He is still not eating, so next we do a dental, hoping he can handle being under anesthesia.
Alix, sweet alix, has a growth on her nose - that is coming off. (will schedule after we get labs back) She was labeled - "quite feisty" at the vets. They were unable to do her cystocentesis (she is turning 13 next month, so I wanted a senior panel and T4 done), and was brought back to us scruffed. A first for any of my cats in the almost 11 years of going to this vet practice. I did warn them she can be quite mouthy and stubborn
Her sister, Ophelia, probably has hypert - and was also taken in for a senior panel and T4. I hope the results give us an answer...expect to have them by Tuesday.
It was quite the vet visit!
