I took Bonaparte tot he vet and he has been bitten in several places = his leg, ear. stomach and neck. He has had some antibiotic and anti inflammatories (not Metacam!) and I have pills for him. Now he is sleeping, the best treatment.
I'm sorry, I should have clarified. We only used diluted perioxide dabbed on the wounds after soaking it in warm water with epson salt for at least 10 minutes to drawl out the infection and the perioxide was used to clean the outside skin, followed by anti-bacterial ointment. It's been repeatedly said by many on this forum. No perioxide on puncture wounds - no matter what caused the puncture. You only risk pushing debris back into the wound. You're not supposed to pour anything over a puncture wound for the same reason.
