Start supplementing it immediately and continue every two hours. Make sure kitten and food are warm. Feed tummy down, head up, and one drop at a time into the cheek.
Okay how often do I feed I've done all of that? It's having a hard time regulating body temp colder than others. I feel as if my heat blanket isn't strong enough so I've been heating stuff in dryer and covering it. It's breaths are shallow but I refuse to let it die bc it's meowed and it moves. Just very weak.
Wrap it up with a rice sock and keep rubbing it like mom would to keep it stimulated. It needs to eat, but it needs to be warm first! I know you're trying and sometimes it just isn't enough. Fingers crossed!
she didn't make it when I say she was small I mean she was extremely small.... You could see her ribs bulging out. I'm so upset I hate that I couldn't save her I tried everything
So sorry about the little one. The others look very healthy! Moms sometimes appear lumpy after delivering because the uterus needs to shrink back down. Congrats on the babies! [emoji]128149[/emoji]
I know [emoji]128542[/emoji] But I'm so happy that these 3 are here. And thank y'all have been so helpful. Could it be possible she may have one or two more? Plus she is bleeding pretty heavily down there.
She could have more. How heavy is the bleeding? She should not be bleeding a lot - just spotting. If it doesn't let up quickly, you'll need to call the vet. You don't want her to hemorrhage!
She will bleed after birth just as most mammals do. As long as it's not a lot, and she seems okay, it's probably fine. That little one is sad, but you did what you could. It happens. You've got 3 gorgeous little fur balls there. [emoji]128525[/emoji]
Thankyou [emoji]128525[/emoji] And okay just making sure she's okay. If she's still big in the morning I'm going to take her into the vet just to make sure she's okay.
No need to take her in to the vet tomorrow if she isn't bleeding heavily. Cats can deliver litter mates on totally different days. You don't want to stress mom or risk the babies getting exposed to something.
And as mentioned before, she'll have some after pains and her uterus will shrink over the next day or so. Often it's believed that there's another kitten, but it's just this that is felt. If she's not finished but is acting okay, I'd wait.
