Do you think burping is ok around people or in public?

(My ex sister in law, her whole family thought it was a normal human function and they belched all the time, without saying excuse me or anything...haha Imagine her sweet little grandma sitting next to you at christmas eve dinner and BURP!)

Nope - It's not something I find good manners. I appreciate in some other cultures it's not frowned upon though.

I would never burp in public or around my family. However, if it's just me and Shy or if we have friends over, I'll rip one out and rattle the windows

. My burps are reserved for my hubby and friends LOL!!

LOL, Susan, have you tried the "warm Coke" burps?? Those are dangerous! Definitely one of those eye watering burps

If you drink a coke WARM instead of COLD, it makes your burps about 5 times as powerful

. I can't explain why, but it really does. When I get home from the grocery store, I'm impatient so I can't always wait for my soda to get cold in the fridge and I drink it warm sometimes.

(that's how I discovered the secret power of the "warm coke burps") LOL!

Well, I will burp in public, that gas building up is unhealthy, not to mention quite painful, but I will say excuse me!

Beth mentioned it was acceptable in some countries. Maybe that side of the family came from one of those countries?

If it's an accident and you say excuse me, I see no problem with it. In your own home, who cares!!! If you don't even say excuse me in public you should be cattle proded!!!

It really depends om the company I'm in! If it's my Mum, Dad and friends then it's ok.

I will always pardon myself if I do it in other company.

Hehehe... well I'm ashamed to say that we're both guilty of that one. It's ok for Rune and I when we're in eachother's company... but it's not something that we do when we're out in public! We have bad habits, but it's another thing entirely to inflict them upon other people. His family seem to be used to his "antics" and they're just as bad... nobody cares because they're all soooo laid back. But at least we do excuse ourselves! As for farting... good God he is simply rotten. There is no other way to put it. But the cat gives him a good run for his money!
