While I was driving to work yesterday " Another one bites the dust" By Queen came on... So of course I started to rock out
Then I remembered that this was the first song I ever remember singing as a child , I was 3! Then I remember '' She's got Bette Davis Eyes" By Kim Carins! I would stand in front of my parents speakers ( which back then were bigger than me! ) and sing like crazy! What is the first song you ever remember singing as a child?

Oh I remember Donny Osmond. He's coming here to Cleveland sometime soon!

As for me, the earliest I remember is my parents had a Marry Poppins album, and I used to play it over and over again.......what a dork toddler I was! LOL

"Jesus Loves Me" is the first I can remember, but I have been told that I was caught singing another hymn that has the words "happy day" while pulling tissues out of my grandmother's tissue box.

Being raised in a Pentecostal church, "Jesus Loves Me" was my first song, too.

The first secular song that I can remember singing was Ray Charles' "I Can't Stop Loving You". Even though it was the early 60s, that song got a lot of airplay on country music stations.

At age 2, I sang, "Dirty White Boy" by Foreigner.

In fact, my mother is a partner at a restaurant in VA, and had the karaeoke guy sing it for me, while she called me on the phone, just a couple weeks ago. It was great!

"Bear bottoms welcome here, but please don't leave this room unbearable!"

That's what's said on a picture in our bathroom. It's got a teddy bear sitting on a toilet, with a clothspin on his nose. I used to make up tunes for those words and would sing them as I pottied

My mother and I used to sing , Mr. Moon, Abba Daba Daba and another song -
called Gillie Gillie Osenpepper song.

Now to go with the misquoted lyrics thread, I actually did a google search and can you believe it??? It's out there! I swear everything in on the internet.
Here are the lyrics. I never knew it was Hassenpfeffer
I used to sing: "In Gilly-Gilly-Osenpepper-cats-a-million-boken-by the sea"
It gets really really fast at the end so you get tongued-tied or at least that was the way we sang it.

Gilly Gilly by the Sea

There's a tiny house
By a tiny stream
Where a lovely lass
Had a lovely dream
And the dream came true
Quite unexpectedly
In Gilly-gilly-hassenpfeffer-catch-an-Allan-Bogen-by-the-sea
She was out one day
Where the tulips grow
When a handsome lad
Stopped to say hello
And before she knew
He kissed her tenderly
In Gilly-gilly-hassenpfeffer-catch-an-Allan-Bogen-by-the-sea

(All right now, Ladies and Gentlemen, you've heard us sing the whole thing right through; we want you to sing each and every word that Frankie sings.)

There's a tiny house
By a tiny stream
Where a lovely lass
Had a lovely dream
And the dream came true
Quite unexpectedly
In Gilly-gilly-hassenpfeffer-catch-an-Allan-Bogen-by-the-sea

She was out one day
Where the tulips grow
When a handsome lad
Stopped to say hello
And before she knew
He kissed her tenderly
In Gilly-gilly-hassenpfeffer-catch-an-Allan-Bogen-by-the-sea

The happy pair were married, one Sunday afternoon
They left the church and ran away, to spend their honeymoon

In a tiny house
By a tiny stream
Where a lovely lass
Had a lovely dream
And the last I heard
They still lived happily
In Gilly-gilly-hassenpfeffer-catch-an-Allan-Bogen-by-the-sea
In Gilly-gilly-hassenpfeffer-catch-an-Allan-Bogen-by-the-sea

The first song I remembered singing was the alphabet song off of Sesame Street
... I loved that show when I was a kid and it is still going strong after all of these years

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Probably my abc's and Jesus Loves Me. I don't know which came first, but when I was really little, I used to sit out in the swing with my Grandma in the evening and we would sing
"The man in the moon looked down from the moon, looked down from the moon and said
It's time for all little girl and boys to think about going to bed."

I don't even know if that's a real song or if she just made it up.

I think I was probably 3 or 4, and my babysitter taught me to sing "She Loves You" by the Beatles, and then had me sing it for her friends. I remember wondering why they were laughing

I was about two and I used to sing along to my favourite TV show(still is) theme song, Shortland Street, but I pronounced S's as D's so it was "Dortland Dtreet"
