On Sunday April 10th 2005 I found my cat Spydee, dead, inside our dryer. Why she was in the dryer, I will never know. That was not one of her places to play, hide, sulk, sleep or anything. She stayed away from our washer and dryer and for the life of me, I can't even think as to why she would even be in there. The washer and dryer are in our garage and there's tons of places for her to hide if she was scared or being chased by our other cat. Unfortunately, she was in the dryer while it was on for about an hour and when I pulled her out, the tops of her poor little ears were badly burnt and she was gone. I don't know if she was already gone before I turned the dryer on or not. I didn't even see her in there or jump in. There were no cries for help and there was no 'mess' in the dryer. I'm feeling extreamly guilty about this because she trusted me unconditionaly and I feel that I did not protect her by checking if she was in there or not. I've lost a dear companion that followed me everywhere I went and seemed to only want to be by my side.
She was only 10 and had just had her 10th birthday on March 17th. She showed no signs of being sick or anything and I can't believe I let this happen to her. My wife has tried to console me, but, I continue to cry for her every day. Especialy when I try to go to sleep for the night. She was a very vocal cat and very social as well. She always greeted me when I came home and would jump up in my arms and rest on my shoulder and whatever room I was in, she was in. I really miss my little friend.
