Oh, that would be my disfunctional sleep pattern, Ariana!
Anything keeps me awake! Thank you so much for being here for me!
You're right, Danielle, thank you. I know I usually see it that way and needed this reminder. I will definately pick up and move on from here and all will be better. I will simply learn from this mistake. Guess my brain is all clouded right now! You know, tonight has turned into my "Dear Diary" thread!
You guys are great!

HI Steph,

I finally had a chance to catch this. If that vet is not the owner, I would be writing a letter to the owner of the clinic and very politely telling him or her that this vet was not very helpful in dealing with Sierra, nor were her comments about you and the cat conducive to a repeat visits.

Also, I would seriously think about not taking her back to the vet unless in an emergency. You can vaccinate her there at home, it isn't difficult and she trusts you to do the right thing. She will be hard to handle at vet's simply because of the experiences she has had with them, all the sickness she has fought, the fact that no one can tell you with absolute certainty what is really wrong with her in the first place.

Maybe that is why God put the two of you together in this life. You deal with sick children all the time, and Sierra is clearly not a well cat. Many people would have given up on her by now, just based on the amount of vet bills and the visits. Call around and see if there is a mobile vet in your area? The market is opening up and there could be someone that will come to the house and make this whole thing less scary for Sierra and less stressful for you.

Thank you, Mary Anne. You are exactly right, and she will not be returning to this Vet. It would be so perfect if a Dr. would make housecalls for us, and would be worth any extra charge for the service. Sierra just is so incredibly scared at the Vet, and it breaks my heart to see her upset. I do agree completely that God has brought us together, and I am so blessed to have her in my life.
Thank you so much for your advice, and especially for caring.

Send a cage. Postage due.
Steph-- I just caught your last comment here and may I interject that you probably could not have done anything differently. You already were doing your best. Maybe it wasn't meant to be, that is, sometimes we need to be startled with an event, however small, to make a change. I think it's telling you something. I think Sierra is telling you something.

A cage!

You're right, E, it's definately time to make a change, and I suppose it has taken this for Sierra to get her point across to me. Thank you!

You might want to write to this vet later, when it is not so raw. Maybe she could learn from the situation and won't treat another pet this way. Those links to mobile vets sounds like just the ticket. I hope there is one near you and that they have a philosophy that meets with your, Sierra's and our approval.

Thank you, Becky, that is a wonderful suggestion to write a letter in hopes she could use this as a learning experience. A Vet, especially a Hollistic Vet who sincerely cares about her patients, should seek daily to learn from them.
Yes, I am really hoping to find a mobile Vet in our area. This will be so much better for Sierra, thank you for your support!

Thank you, Susan, for your sweet note to check in on my baby girl!

After sleeping for over 24 hours, Sierra is finally feeling more like herself! She has eaten about 2 oz of her Innova Lite as well as her supplements and just a few minutes ago took me to the bedroom to ask for her bonito treat!
She's back asleep now here at my side, I'm just so happy she is beginning to feel better so we can put that nightmare experience behind us.

One unusual thing, though, is that she has only gone potty one time since Wed night. I am sure there is not a problem, but I will be monitoring her very closely.

so glad to hear that she is feeling better Stephanie
what great news... I am sure the potty thing is nothing too serious but its a good idea to keep an eye on her - she has probably just been so stressed the last couple of days.

I know a few people have mentioned how pleased that Sierras thread is continuing - and I must say I am also very pleased that it wasnt all completely lost - however I do look forward to the day when this thread can be put to rest - for want of a better word - because that will say that Sierra is doing just fine
does that make sense?

Stephanie, my heart is breaking right now
.. I am so sorry that you and Sierra had to suffer such an extremely awful situation. I am absolutely shocked that a vet (or any "professional") would EVER talk to you and Sierra (or anyone) in such a way. I am appalled
Is there someone you can write to or call about this person? Perhaps, someone higher up (manager, etc..) .

How is
Sierra
doing today? How are you doing, sweetheart? This must have shook you up so badly, I can't even imagine. If there is anything I could do, possibly write a letter or make some calls about this "vet", please let me know. I am just so sorry..

Please let us know how you two are doing.. Sending all our love to you and Sierra,
Ani,
Skylar, and Mommy-Lauren
