I haven't had a pasty in nearly 13 years.
One of the things I miss the most about the UP.

NC can turn out some great pork barbeque. Sundrop is a regional favorite drink. When my niece was in Iraq my Mil shipped it to her by the carton. And very specific to town near mine, Tony's grape ice cream. It is a legacy.

Besides Micro-Brews. I think I heard that Colorado has more Micro-Breweries than any other state!
Unless I've been in the clouds, Oregon has the most. If not, their the ones that started the microbrew craze.

Paso isn't really known for any food, but almost any wine afficando(sp?) knows about Paso Robles wineries.
