When I was young, I had about every kind of pet there ever was, from birds to snakes to insects to racoons and skunks. Now I just have the best of all. cats!

three cats, and no other pets! 
That is a beautiful picture. I guess you Border Collies are the smartest dogs? It looks like they are also the sweetest.

In the past I've had budgies, hamsters, bunnies, fish and my late Jack Russell Terrier whom I've had for almost 16 years. Chickens and ducks too, at one point for some years

Back when our daughter was about 10, we had five cats, a beagle, 21 hamsters, a parakeet, a checkered giant rabbit that thought he was a dog, three tortoises and a toad that I knew of. I didn't venture into her room too much h for fear of what else I might find there.
Now it's just the two of us and the three cats. Our daughter has about 9 cats, I think (I quit counting).

We'd love to keep a horse and a couple of labradors but no, we must content with about 26 cats
