Anywhere warm! Maybe Florida, Arizona, or Southern California. I could look outside the US too.

lovely!Right here where I am. It is home and I love it.
ahhh, the beach! great choices of places with beaches too!Costa Rica, Hawaii or the Eastern Shore of Maryland. In other words: BEACH!
both warm and beautiful places!
IN a perfect world, we'd split our time between the Florida Keys and the Bahamas
Yup. Our place in the Bahamas would be a private island with a kitty playground with stuff to climb on and hide in and of course, kitty sized hammocks so they could nap in the sun while enjoying the ocean breezes.

very good point!
I'm pretty young and broke, so I've had very few opportunities to travel, almost none in my adult life. However, I really do think I'd prefer a colder climate (I know, I'm crazy), but the cold always makes the kitties cuddle more, and my Dubs could never handle the heat, even though I've lost him now its still a consideration. I'm more of a "sit on a beach in the cold with a coffee" person than a "lie on the beach and tan" person. Ideally a world of perpetual autumn would be great, but we don't live in a perfect world.
I'd rather have perpetual spring. The flowers would be blooming, it still wouldn't be too hot or cold and the snowbirds would be at HOME.
very good point!hmmm, a world of perpetual autumn...not too cold, but not too hot either...i like that thought!
i'm so sorry for your loss.
that sounds like a utopia.........for both you and your cats!

good points! and i always feel like spring time is full of hope, of the promise of warm weather and everything starting to grow again.

Yeah, I always preferred spring to fall. the flowers would all die, the leaves were falling (which I'd have to rake), school starts (yuck) and fall meant the worst thing of all. WINTER IS COMING.

an ocean view, even in the distance, would be lovely!
We're really happy where we are, but if you could pick the mountain up and spin it around so we're facing the ocean that would be great.
very nice!
Right where we are, ocean is near nice cool breeze in summer never extreme heat, very mild winters expecting a trace of snow tomorrow. One night we were -2 that's been it so far
haha! that's an excellent point -- 'with some kind of short, not too cold winters to kill off bugs and give a person a break' !!!
I'm not sure....... somewhere warm, say between 70 and 80 degrees, but with some kind of short, not too cold winters to kill off bugs and give a person a break. Florida has non stop horrible humidity and mosquitoes the size of June bugs, so no thanks. Most of those southern states make you feel like you need a shower right after you had one. But I'm SURE there has got to be 'pockets' of beautiful weather down there somewhere. My uncle lives on the west side of the Rockies and he says the weather there is perfect, I might look into that. Please post the best spots to live, I love hearing about them on these below zero mornings!
ahhh, the ideal concept!
We would move based on the seasons!
I'd spend Spring on the Outer Banks, North Carolina. We vacationed there one May and it was gorgeous and there weren't too many other tourists. DH and I really enjoyed renting a kayak and paddling around some back waterways. (No ocean kayaking for me!)
I'd spend Summer in the Adirondack mountains and fall in the Smokey Mountains. Both are very beautiful; but the winters are too cold and snowy in the Adirondacks for me. And if a winter storm comes through in the Smokies; you might be stuck home for a while! I like being home; but not because I HAVE to be home. I want it to be a choice!
So I'd spend winter in Key West. I guess all of my places are on the Eastern coast of the US. None require me to learn a foreign language either.
those all sound like lovely places to live! even the farm in Montana!
Um. I live in San Diego. Due to global warming, AC is now recommended...
Grew up here. Lived in a bunch of other places (cities). Am back. I'm really tired of people, though.
SD is one of the largest cities (#8?) in the country, and the second largest in CA. I know it advertises itself as a "not-city," but it's not true.
Really like the desert and the ocean. NM is very very appealing--but there's no ocean...
Valparaiso.
Vancouver.
Maybe Edinburgh.
Maybe somewhere S. France (after I win the Powerball...).
When I was a little girl, I wanted to live in Montana on a farm... but that's more like the romanticized version of get me the bleep out of here...
SD's okay. It's not really for me. Though I'd probably complain anywhere...
I saw them but we didn't go to any. DH almost never drinks and I'm more of an occasional glass of wine or a drink with dinner kind of person. I wondered if they have problems with drunk people driving through. I suppose not any more than other liquor stores would.

i loved the Outer Banks, North Carolina too. just a beautiful place! did you see the Brew Thru's, when you visited there? i don't drink alcohol, but i thought that was just so cool!
i would imagine they might have some problems with drunk people, especially during the summer and heavy tourist season.

DH and I did a lot of beach walking when we were there. I find it so relaxing! But I love walking in the woods too (on trails). I also don't like crowds. So I'd prefer the beaches in the off season and the solitude of the mountain otherwise. We rented a very nice cabin for our honeymoon. I'd like to do that type of vacation again too.
