I'm retired so I can sleep in as late as I want to. I usually wake up around 4 or 4:30 take care of my ferals eat and go back to bed and watch TV. My cats used to wake me up at 4:00 AM so I guess they had me trained to get up at that time.
I'm up by 6:30 am on a weekday and 7:30-8:00 am on the weekend. Sometimes Perla is very active and won't let us sleep so I tend to sleep in those days and then run like crazy to get to work
Weekdays I wake up at 6:00 and get out of bed around 6:10. Weekends I sleep in if I can - 9:00/9:30. If I had my way I'd be a night owl and sleep late every day, but that doesn't work with our family/work schedules.
My "natural" awake time is around 10 am. Anything before 8 feels like torture. Having said that; what time I get up varies. It usually takes waking up several times before I'm able to get myself out of the bed. And then I'm still not ready to interact with other people for a while.
The alarm is set for 5:00 AM during the week and I get up at 5:15. Weekends, I usually sleep until 6:00 or 6:30. If I get up any later than that, it's like the whole day is shot.
I've always been nocturnal and was at my best when working nights. Switching to days was awful and every time I had a long weekend, I'd start to switch back. Now that I'm retired, I often go to bed about 6 a.m. and get up late in the afternoon. For some reason, even my doctors can't understand someone being nocturnal. I'm sure it's not that rare. Even mu husband is mostly nocturnal. He crashes earlier than I though.
On week days (except from on holidays) I wake up at 8:00am and on the weekends I wake up at any time from 10:30am - 1:30pm. Since I'm a night owl I'm definitely more of a late riser.
