So I have a pregnant cat and her kittens have been moving for 2 weeks. They have been moving very hard for the past 2 or 3 days. I just want to know how much longer you guys think it will be till they are here.

I’m pretty sure she conceived between the 26th and 30th of April

That would be about right. Cat pregnancy is around 60-65 days so she has to be really close. Make sure she has a nesting box or enclosed space she feels safe in and I would try to confine her to a single room so she doesn’t choose an inaccessible or bad (as in on your sofa!) place to have her babies. If you use a bedroom be sure to cover bed in something waterproof.

I have been keeping her in my bedroom with me so that I can watch her and I have made two nesting boxes for her

Catnip isn’t a drug in the way people usually think of the term, “drug.”

Technically, ”drug” refers to any substance, other than food, which causes a physiological change in the body. However, if we take that definition to its extreme conclusion, a cold shower could be considered a drug.

The real answer lies somewhere in between.

Catnip isn’t a drug like alcohol or marijuana. It doesn’t affect a receptor which makes a person feel high. The active substance in catnip, napetalactone, affects the cat’s smell receptors which, in turn makes the cat happy and playful.

How do you feel when you walk into the kitchen to the smell of cookies baking? That’s what happens to cats, only in a more intense way.

With that in mind, I wouldn’t worry so much about giving a pregnant cat a little catnip but, at the same time, I would probably limit the amount and frequency.

Bottom line…. It depends on the cat and her condition.

You need to be the judge.

She should be okay, but I’d hold off on future catnip for now.
So I did see that it could cause premature labor if she doesn’t go into labor will the babies be okay?

Yes, the kittens drop into the birth canal and become squished so they move less. She’s very close.
