Today I got an e-mail from my younger brother (because he coudln't get hold of me any other way) to let me know that my Nanny, who is diabetic, is now in the High Dependency Unit in Dr Grays Hospital hooked up to a number of machines and having her oxygen levels monitored. Things are so bad this time that everyone is expecting the worst - my father has just travelled 600 miles overnight and is currently rounding up the family - so I'm fairly sure that this is it. I will be flying out as soon as possible, if finances allow for it. she is the sweetest woman I know - despite the really dirty sense of humour that has never left her
and it's hard to imagine what life would be like without her making some rude remark in the day.
I would just like to ask for a little board magic for her - keep her in your thoughts and your prayers and if this really is her time to go, pray that it will be swift and painless and peaceful with all her family around her.
