Results are in.........and I know NOTHING more than I did BEFORE the CT Scan.
My Dr. told me that they saw the spot on the scan, but do NOT know what it is.He said that he had hoped that they would see some calcium deposits, to let them know it was scar tissue....and therefor nothing much to worry about. But, they did NOT see that on my scan.
Now get this, they want me to wait another 3 MONTHS--and repeat the CT Scan with contrast. If they don't know what it is, they do know that Cancer runs high in my family..........why put it off for 3 more months?I am so peed off, upset, worried all combined into one.
Shawn and I have decided that we are NOT going to wait that long though.I am going to go to the Hospital and request a copy of my report.I'm then going to call around and find a Lung Specialist that will look at them, and me.I need answers!!!
It is my body, not theirs that we're talking about here.To wait 3 more months is like playing a dangerous game in our eyes.
I did see the x-ray report--as I had to have a copy of it to take to the Hospital to have the scan done.It said --right lung nodule shown on CXR Jan.17,2008.
So, now find a Specialist who will look at me,and go from there.
Thank you ALL for your support/vibes/well wishes.

I am TRYING to remain calm, but that's not an easy task with me.
As soon as I know more, I will let you all know.

Oh that is really terrible, to leave you like that for all that time. I do hope you find someone who can tell you definitively.

How frustrating.

I agree that finding a specialist is probably the best bet at this point. If you know any nurses they could probably ask around to get you the name of a good one.

Good luck.

How maddening!! I think it's a good idea to go to a specialist; you have the right to know what's going on with your body so that you can get the appropriate treatment ASAP, whatever that might be.

I am wishing you luck and sending you good energy. Take care!

Tammy that is ridiculous
I hope you can find someone that will take a better look at it.

Is the 3 months because of a waiting period for the test or something?? That is so annoying.

I'm sorry hun

They wanted her to wait 3 months to see if it grows. I mean why not do the biopsy to see what the heck it is before it can grow.

I hope you find a specialist who can give you answers that you much need.
for your boys too!

I went to see my Dr on Saturday Jan.12. I was having BAD chest pain and actually thought I was having a heart attack. He determined I had Costochondritis http://www.emedicinehealth.com/costo...rticle_em.htm.He put me on Tylenol 3's for the pain. They did VERY little for the pain. So, I called him back and he told me to come in again(Jan.17th).Because the pain was still severe, and moved to the right side and then into my back--he ordered a x-ray.So, I went in and got that done on the same day.I called him the next day, to see if he had the results. He hadn't gotten them yet, but said as soon as he did-he would call.ABout 5 min. later, he called. The Radiologist called him hisself and told him the results. They did NOT find anything on my left side (the side that was hurting the most),but they DID find something. On my right lung, the size of about 2 inches-they found a spot. The Radiologist told my Dr, that THEY are requiring me to have a CT scan to determine what the spot is.It is something that is causing them some concern. It could be ANYTHING from scar tissue to Cancer.
If it is scar tissue, then I will be required to have another CT scan in 3-6 months after the first one....to insure it hasn't gotten bigger. If it is Cancer, then we decide what course to take.
I am scared out of my mind right now!!!
If it's not to much to ask, can you all spare some prayers/vibes/wishes this way? Your support has gotten us through some VERY rough times in the past.
I will update as soon as I know when the CT scan is, and then when I get the results.I will either post, or have crazyforinfo or Troutsmom post for me, as we talk every day.
HUGS to all!!!!
I wish you all the best of luck.
