I'd love to see some new pics of Lil Roar & Tommy Boy! It was Cinnamon sleeping with Amber and Boris in that recent photo, right?

Wow! What a beautiful cat. Every time I see Carmelo I fall in love with him all over again. Great pics of Aurora tooOriginally Posted by AmberThe Bobcat
Ok, here are a few updates. Carmelo is going through some major changes. As you can see, he is no longer the little cub he once was. However, he is still a cub until he is 2 years old. Just a BIG cubHe is also losing all his baby teeth. I have found 4 so far and he loves to have the sides of his mouth massaged, because it hurts due to all the new teeth coming in.

I just can't get over how gorgeous all your cats are!
What ever happened to this bobcat?I absolutly love your babies!! I have always LOVED big cats! I had a friend that owned a bobcat she was the sweetest thing...they actually found her mom dead in the woods and she was the only baby they found they hand raised her because she was only maybe a week or so old when they found her. I have always wanted to own a big cat but I just don't have the room!
I am not sure I haven't talked to her or seen her in about 7yrs..I am not sure how long they live...but she found her in 1996...I would assume that if they have a long life span she is still alive.Originally Posted by AmberThe Bobcat

They can live 20-25 years in captivity, so she may still have itOriginally Posted by mommaoftwo2006

Yes, Nakoma loves it on the platform. It is up high and he has a good view in 3 directions. The other platforms are closer to the house, good in the winter because there is shelter from the wind, but this one is more out in the open and higher. As for the baby picture, maybe I should post more. I had this thread a while ago, but it was lost during the crash, so I started over. And poor Carmelo with his "pink" blankie. When we got him, we were told he was a SHE, so that is why he got the pink one. The breeder made a mistake and we got a male instead of a female. So, not only did he have a girls name for his first few weeks, he still has his girly pink blankieOriginally Posted by katiemae1277
Nakoma really seems to like his platform! And how cute was Amber??!! I wasn't around when you first got her so that's the first baby pic I've scene, how adorable! Carmelo is of course as handsome as ever, love the "Hello Kitty" blankie
They behave pretty much like a normal domestic cat, but on a much larger scale. So, when you see your cat doing some of the silly things they do or when they get running around like crazy, imagine the same thing at 80+ pounds for Carmelo. However, he still has a while to grow yet. The bobcats are not quite as large. They range from 28 pounds for Amber, approx 35 pounds for Boris and Nakoma about 50. Also, none of these cats were taken from the wild. They are all born and raised in captivity and came from a breederWow! They are absolutely beautiful. And they like being captivated?
I have always been they same way, ever since I was a child. Everytime we would go to the zoo, I always wanted to see the big cats. What further put me on this path of exotic cat ownership, was when I was a boy of about 8-10 years old. One day, our family was in the car going down the interstate. As we past this one car, I looked and there it was. A cougar sitting in the back seat looking back at me. He just gave me such a calm look as if to say, you will understand one dayI've surrounded myself with big cat paraphernalia all my life, and have always pined after the thought of having a big cat to cuddle with - you are living my dream!
400 acres, I would love to have that. If you lived closer, I would offer to buy some of that from youI just wanted to say your babies are beautiful. I love exotics although I could never have one. I have plenty of space 400 acres but not enough time or money. Although I do like to look at them. I love tigers and black panthers hense me liking bombay cats so much. But would never have one just because I couldn't handle one. But all I can say on yours is wow.
