thank you so much for your concern. Stoli is still on a pill a day dose of Prednisone - We are getting his CBC checked on Friday. If he is ok - we'll be slowly coming off the steroids and we'll be sure to check his CBC a couple of weeks after coming off. There was no final diagnosis but I'll keep your post in mind! I hope it was just some random fluke of nature.Originally Posted by LDG

Are you going to be using the mobile vet from now on? And in the end, was there ever a diagnosis? Do they know what caused the white blood cell count to fall so low?
And is he still on the Prednisone? Tuxie wound up having a disease where his body thought his red blood cells were a virus and attacked it. He was on Prednisone, but it stopped working, and they switched to Depo-Medrol (a long acting steroid that is given by injection).
I guess what I'm asking is... is this something similar, where if he goes off the Prednisone his white cell count will fall again? Did the vet (old or new) recommend he have his CBC checked again a couple weeks after ending the prednisone if he is stopping to have it?
Sorry for all the questions. But we were so close to losing Tuxie, I get worried.
Mostly I'm so happy you have your Stoli back, happy - eating, drinking - and healthy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
