i don't know about males, but the earlier you can get the female spayed, the better - cats spayed prior to 1st heat have less likelihood of breast cancer & other hormonally related diseases.Originally Posted by fwan
The woman downstairs of my appartment told me its better to let the cat have its first spray and then get them neutered.
Good luck

They do try to escape but I will in no way let them out unless it's in their outdoor pen. Quki my garage dweller spends most of the time in the garage but sometimes comes in. My oldest, Hannah refused to come back inside when I started getting more animals. If I could get her in I would. I have heard that indoor kittys are healthier and live longer lives than outdoor or indoor/outdoor kittys.
Anyway, sorry to hijack your post and I'm glad your baby came back home.

Mine is indoor only now. He came to me after being stray for a bit so wanted out, I caved and let him out for several months but am now converting him. IT'S VERY HARD, so I tell anyone making that decision that if you have a cat who has never been out don't start. They are safer inside, there are many hazards. The house next door to me is vacant and they started doing work on it so the windows are open, he could get trapped in there. Also he goes across the street and could get hit. I mean let me count the ways of why they shoudl stay in. Also I think it's nicer to neighbors. I have a friend who has a cat constantly coming into her yard and peeing and it's tough (cats will tend to poop outside if they are given the choice)Originally Posted by dicknleah
