It's sometimes difficult to find the time to just sit and read, life takes over and we have to juggle things. The book club has had a good 4 year run and even got me reading a couple of your cozies Mamanyt1953
.
It's October 31st, which means the end of "Choose Your Own from '100 Books Everyone Should Read' list month, but also the end of the Book of the Month club itself. So I want to post a few words to thank everyone who helped us reach the 4th year anniversary.
First off, our fellow readers:
I’d love to name each and every one of you individually, but I know even if I went through every thread and recorded names I’d miss someone, so rather than take that chance, I’ll just say “thank you all”. Some of you were with us in the beginning, some joined us these last couple of months, some read only a month or two, others multiple months, and there are also some who were once regulars and have since drifted away from TCS. But no matter when or how often you participated, you are a part of the reason the book club ran for 4 years. Thank you for reading books, even when they weren’t necessarily your preferred genre, or when time was tight. And thank you for taking the time to post reviews and join the discussion on the books. Without your participation, the Book of the Month Club might not have lasted more than one month.
TCS Mods:
I’d also like to thank the TCS mods for regularly featuring our book club thread, as I’m sure that brought notice of the book club to members who might otherwise have missed it.
My Book Club Co-runners:
And last, but not least, I want to thank my fellow book club co-runners.
Mia6
. Although you weren’t able to stick with us the full 4 years, as a founding member you helped bring the idea of creating a book of the month club to fruition. Thank you for being there in the beginning, and continuing to join in whenever you were able.

: You were also there at the beginning, when the book of the month club was just a whimsical dream. But not only did it become a reality, with your support and ideas, we surpassed all our expectations and made it to our 4th year anniversary. Although we both would have continued, reading patterns changed, and the time was right to end the monthly reads. Time will tell if there will eventually be interest in resurrecting the book club in a different format, but for now, we can take a break from the brainstorming.
Future book club planners:
Undoubtedly, a time will come in the future when other members consider starting a book club. Reading is such a pleasurable hobby, and running a book club, though challenging at times, is totally worth it. So if you should be reading this, good luck to you.
I would also like to join rubysmama
in saying a big thank you to all that participated throughout the four years, readers and mods. Its sad that the book club has finished but all good things must come to an end.
Its been fun reading and discussing the books with you, loved the reviews.
Thanks to Mia6
, our founding member and rubysmama
for all the hard work put into the running, you made life easier for me.
SIGH...I look around the room, but nothing looks the same. The pictures are no longer on the walls, the furniture is gone now. But in my heart, I remember it just as it was, and I whisper, "Home."

Quite a range of genres covered, reading through the list brought a smile to my face remembering the books. So many I wouldn't have even considered if it wasn't for the book club.
Thank you all for the book club. I really enjoyed it. Even though I didn't make every month, I also had a smile reading the books read over the 4 years. I read many of them, in the book club and before the book club.
I absolutely appreciate the time the mods, helpers, suggesters and readers put in.
I bought All She Ever Wanted by Lynn Austin, the first bom. It was only about $2.99. When we chose
that book I didn't think I would like it but I did. I guess I'm feeling nostalgic.
