Sorry to hear this! that does suck, I've had it happen to me too- it really shouldn't make your rates go up that much, a barely noticeable amount and paying $250 is better than $507! couldn't have happened to your "old" car, huh? Nothing beats my ex's story though- we went out and got him a new truck, cause his old truck was major POS and was about to fall apart... what happens 2 days after he gets it? he goes deer hunting.... with the truck! over $2000 worth of damage-only him

I had my Impala for 2 years, and I never had ANYTHING happen to it!

So my boss and 3 other techs were just out there looking at it, and they said that it wasnt a car that hit it, it had to be a shopping cart or something - and now that they looked at it closer, its gonna be closer to $1,000 to fix.

Insurance claim, here I come!

I didn't really hit it with a shopping cart.

I hope they can fix it cheap for you.

The joys of owning a car I suppose!

I just cant believe that after having this car for 4 days, I end up needing it repaired. Oh well, I guess it coulda been worse, at least I didnt hit a deer or anything.

Lets just hope that nothing else happens to me today, usually this stuff happens in three's around here!

ain't that the truth- that's my rule too- bad things happen in threes, without a doubt- think hard about other, even slightly bad things so you count out the three! I swear it works.... okay I'm only a little superstitious

I would think your comphrensive coverage should cover your claim.
Last yr one of my friends bought a used truck and drove it over to take his wife to lunch -the truck was hit and run at the restaurant!! His insurance agent hadn't made the switch to cover this vehicle yet-it was like $2500 of damage!!!
Good lock on your claim!!

Will you take a pic so we can get an idea of how big a $1,000 scratch/dent is? Must be a whopper
my car is so old, it would take a while before I even noticed a dent

Is your boss ging to let you make payments?
I still can't believe people sometimes!

Sure, I'll try & get a pic this weekend - since its a white car, its kinda hard to see - but since I work with Body Repair, I notice all kinds of dents & dings

They are going to write an "official" estimate on Monday.... so we'll see how much it really is gonna be then!

Doesn't take much to add up to $1,000 - with paint, labor and time to fix the stuff!
