I was hoping to get some help and advice. A feral cat had a litter of 4 kittens in my backyard in a bunch of rubble. She had them around March 30th and she kept them hidden until May 1st. Should I try to trap the kittens? When I try to approach the kittens they run from me and sometimes the mother hisses at me.
Also, she had another litter back in September or October (I’m guessing). My husband and I saw three kittens for the first time around late November. There is only one left. I think he’s a boy and maybe 8 months old. I don’t know what happened to the other two kittens.
An incident occurred yesterday when the mother cat attacked my super sweet dog yesterday for no reason. My dog was just trying to come inside and she went crazy attacking him (her kittens weren’t even around). I need to take him to the vet tomorrow because there was blood all over his fur and I need to make sure she didn’t scratch his eye. I’m pregnant and thank goodness I didn’t get scratched when I picked up my dog when she was trying to scratch him viciously. I also have a three year old son who I’m afraid can get scratched now. What should I do? Is the 8 month old cat too old to ever be happy in a home?
