Ooooh I didn't realize how hard it would be to switch from pet mode to breeder mode. Its my first time sending a cat away. She's over in Charlotte about 2.5-3 hours from me. She's been showing signs of coming into heat for a couple weeks and then yesterday morning she certainly was in heat so I brought her over straight away. Of the cats there her mother is the only other one in heat and is being bred to the same stud.
She was so mad at me yesterday. All the new cats and new surrounds... she yowled the whole way there (does not like cars, though I've tried training her). Today evidently she is better, sort of sticking to her perch but not to interested in food (or stud). She is so stressed out and I'm so worried about her. She probably won't stay in heat which means she will only have to stay there longer. If she changes her mind and decides to breed I could get her back pretty soon. The stud, Lakewood's Red Boy, started courting her right away but she was NOT interested.
Poor Hope too. She has been going around meowing (not usually that vocal) and sort of wondering where her play buddy is. She's been super loving like we're going to get rid of her next. Sometimes I wish I could tell my animals everything thats going on and that everything will be OK!
