OK - I know I should have updated his other thread, but this was news, I felt, worthy of it's own thread.
Lazlo's chemotherapy began July 29th and ended January 30th. The chemotherapy was in cycles of four. The first two cycles of treatments were weekly, then it went to every-other-week.
After the first two cycles, his tumor (which was "massive,") had been reduced in size by 40%. The oncologist wasn't happy. We called him Dr. Gloom. :lol3: The good news was that Lazlo was responding to the treatment: the bad news was that "it wasn't gone."
Well we stopped spending money on ultrasounds. We decided to complete the chemotherapy.
I debated whether or not to get the "baseline" ultrasound done. Chemotherapy becomes less effective for future treatments (the period of remission becomes shorter)... would we spend the money for 3-4 months of remission? Was knowing where things stood with the tumor worth it?
Well, Carolina pushed me to get it done. And she was right!
