Kittens interested when I clean litter box?

Our two kitties absolutely love it when I am in the process of cleaning out their litter box.... They love it so much that they go to the bathroom in it while I'm trying to clean it out... Does anyone else's cat do this?

Yes... i think it is the instinct to dig.  I've had our Kipper out in the garden with me while I weed.  I was digging out a root in one particular spot.  For the next few weeks whenever we would go out he would 'Dig to China' in that very spot.... oh my what dirty paws. He got shallow baths every evening. LOL

One of my cats growing up would do this.  Most of the time she would be patient enough to let me finish first; but others she had to hop right in!  I use a LitterMaid box now. I've always wondered how she would have reacted to that!

My kittens absolutely do this too! Larry always insisted on watching and/or using while I cleaned the litter box, and now Luke pretty much always hops in part way through

. Leia doesn't usually bother, though.

But Luke and Leia like to pee in the box at the same time...

LOL! That's too funny.... Our kitties like to give eachother privacy when the go to the bathroom. I've been so tempted to record them when they act the way they do.

My cats watch me clean out their box and then immediately jump in and use it.

When I finish cleaning one box, Cassie jumps in and does her business while I clean the other box. Once I finish that box, she's usually done (or I wait for her), then clean up the first box again, while I have the scoop and bag, lol.

My little RB cat, Patches

, used to have to pee in each box just before and just after I scooped it. With four indoor boxes, that kept her hopping.

I wish Luke waited until I had finished cleaning the box before hopping in! Always has to be part way through

That is so sweet. May I use put it in my wallpaper collection? I am the only one who will see it, and I will never re-post it.

EDIT  I just looked at the size of the picture. It is too small to use as wallpaper. By the time I enlarge it to 1440 x 900 the resolution will be terrible.
