Don't pilots go through vigorous training, I mean, if they make a mistake...lives could be lost!!!

I would seriously question the engineering that goes into those airplanes.

Are those built out of cheap composites?

Very scary indeed. Glad to hear that everyone was evacuated before the explosion.

Movin' on up!
China just isn't doing well, in the PR department, lately. The plane was probably built somplace else but, the maintenance people are probably China-based.

On CBC radio this morning they were saying they evacuated in 90 seconds. That's pretty awesome.

its actully reqiured that all airliners be able 2 be evac in at most 90 seconds. it prolly would of gone even faster in this case if the people had left their hand luggage on the plane.

In my own world, its much nicer there
I really gotta start watching the news or any tv for that matter.

I remember just before coming here in '04, everyday for a week was a documentary on plane crashes, it was quite scary but well worth watching as it was very educational.

Majority of crashes happen at take off and landing. Mid air explosions basically only happen when they are dumping excess fuel before landing.

I would get on a plane again happily, just not one operated by China.
