As long as I stay close she's happy :) are there gaps between contractions? She had about 4 before she moved and now I've only seen about three. Make that 5

They'll come harder and faster and suddenly she will begin pushing and there will be a kitten. She'll bite open the sac, clean the kitten, chew the cord and eat the placenta.

And should the kittens come so fast she can't do it all, you help by breaking the sac, wiping the kitten off with a cloth to get it breathing and dry, and you can tie off the cord with dental floss and cut it.

How do you break the sac?

With your fingers or the scissors. You can sometimes just pinch the cord with your fingers too. It's all very small and fragile. Not difficult.

And you may not have to do anything at all except tell her how well she is doing.

How are the contractions coming along?

That's a good place for her to be. There can be pauses. Her body is still working. Is Hugo still hanging around?

And the contractions are back! She had about four or five good ones just now, made her stand up and shift position.

She's a little glutton. Got up ate about half of the food in her bowl, tried to steal my lasagna, then went back to her food.

Taking her time, I see. Well now, labor is hard work. A gal has got to have fuel to do the job!

I am actually always amazed at how cats appear in excrutiating pain during labor, then calmly get up and go wolf down food, then go back to their business.

Lol I was just like "are you serious right now." She usually doesn't eat people good either but she's been begging and thieving for a few days now.

Her water hasn't broke yet.
