One word of caution, most cats need to be trained to a harness and leash.
You probably won't be able to just put it on Buddy and expect him to adapt to it just like that. It can take a few weeks and very gentle handling for a cat adjust to wearing a harness.
My cats are all harness trained, but it took time for each of them. I can tell you my methods if you are interested.
