She has walked off twice now to go to a different area of the house and leaving kittens behind... is that normal?

No, and you should not allow it. She needs to stay in one room with her kittens with door closed!

She's probably still laboring uncomfortably, which is why she wants to walk around. Is there room for her to walk around in the laundry room?

Has she nursed her two kittens yet?

Can you move mom and babies into a room with a door?  Maybe a bathroom or a large closet?  It's important that she stay with them.

I agree that a room with a door would be best, such as a bedroom.

Medium may not be comfortable or large enough. It would need to hold food, water, a litter box, and a nesting area. What about a bedroom or bathroom?

Bathroom would give her more room. I think she's still laboring. If she's not nursing the babies you may need to supplement them soon.

I feel badly that she keeps getting moved. I hope the bathroom move will be it until she's finished giving birth.

I havent moved her to the bathroom yet. One kitten is asleep and another is nursing so ill try and wait until its done or she geta restless again. I think theres more to come still. When she layed in the kitchen you could see her belly doing rolls like when the babies were moving

The belly movements are contractions. That's why I think she's so restless.

Moving her after the kitten finishes nursing is a good idea.

Keep us posted!

Sorry for the delay. She just had baby number 3 and is relaxing finally and feeding all of them. Maybe she was just having a hard time seeing as it took almost 6 hours in between the last two.

Goodness! I'm glad she's finally relaxing. Do you think she's done now?

And are they in a nest in the bathroom?

Im 8 months preg myself and i tried to bed over but hurt my back so when my husband gets home I'll have him relocate them.... but i think shes all done she was vwry restless earlier. Now she is very calm only moves to get a drink of water and goes right back to babies. :) so happy shes good now she had me very nervous

She doesn't need to be moved to the bathroom and closed in if she's staying with her babies. However, she will need to come out of the cage soon because the kittens can get their heads stuck in the openings in the cage wires, which can be very dangerous. We've had some sad stories.

Do you have a box or bin to put them in that's big enough for mom to stretch out in for nursing? Even a closet would work. Wherever you put her, just make sure her food, water, and litter are close by for now.

And has she eaten since giving birth? She'll need some wet food tonight.

Goodness! You'll have your own baby to worry over soon! [emoji]128149[/emoji]

We'd love to see pictures when you get a chance! [emoji]128522[/emoji]
