My experience is that kittens do, but I think that may just be us. Our cats never "learned" to sleep through the night because we never tried to teach them to do so. 20-20 hindsight, right? Shelly wakes me up by pawing at my hair (if I don't wake up to his "eeeeek" (he doesn't really meow)) at 3:00 or 4:00am to pet him. Then he curls up next to me and falls back asleep. Of course, instead of discouraging this behavior, I pet him.
