Since there's been alot of new people on here since I've come back, I'm curious, what do we all do for a living.........I personally want to be a stay at home house wife and give my time to a no kill shelter, but unfortunately, I have to work to help put food on the table. I am an administrative assistant for a chemical company in Cleveland......

How about the rest of you?

I am a Library Assistant at my son's Elementary School. Sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging, (but, well,
I am) I absolutely
love
my job!
I don't make a lot of money, and the hours could be better, but having the opportunity to see my son, even briefly, is the best!

I work in a body shop - well, not repairing cars tho!

I run the office - answer phones, deal with insurance compaines, do payroll, all the fun secretarial type stuff!

Sometimes dealing with customers and their smashed up cars can be a huge pain, but I do love what I do!

I really love working/dealing with cars, I used to work wth my Grandpa in the Parts Department back home that he was the manager of, so I know my cars and their parts. It really helped me get the job I have now.

Thanks to my Grandpa, he started me out in a great business!

I'm STUDYING music, I want to freelance but mostly I want to have a large private studio and teach suzuki style or a general music class for children in a community music school....hopefully I can make that happen for myself.

RIGHT NOW, I am a part time nanny for an extremely wealthy family. It pays the bills (and then some) and I really enjoy it most of the time
That, and I do small gigs like weddings, church things,

I am an Animal Care Team Member for the Houston SPCA.

And I just want to make a note, that any of my posts on here are my views and I do not in any way speak on the behalf of the SPCA...

Thats awesome! Right now I'm a full time student to become an ASE certified mechanic. I've loved cars for as long as I can remember. I cant wait till school is over and I can get into the field and start working.

I get income from my husband who is an "IT specialist". Read, computer nerd, lol.

I am a full-time graduate student, getting my Masters in Arts Management- basically a business degree for those who want to run arts organizations.

Also, I work about 20 hrs a week as a Marketing/Public Relations Coordinator for a non-profit theatre company here in Chicago. I'll never be a millionaire, but I love it!

My husband also works in the theatre and is the main breadwinner right now as a freelance theatre technician and stage manager.

I am a Customer Care Specialist for a student loan company. You wouldn't believe the calls I get everyday! I have people calling and yelling because they didn't pay their loan payments and now they cannot buy a car or house because their credit is messed up. It is not OUR fault they were late. It is not OUR fault they moved and didn't notify us of their new address. But they think it is our fault and call demanding we clear their credit. Ummm Hello?? That is what happens when you don't make payments!!!

I also look at the applications to put references on their account. I think it should be a requirement that students should be able to write clearly to go to school or at least if they are not able to, then TYPE the references in. I get eye strain with having to decifer the writing.

I am a QA engineer—yes, that's my official title—for one of the relative few dot coms that survived The Great Dot Com Die-off.
Basically, I spend my time trying to make sure our developers' code isn't too broken. It's interesting most of the time.

haha, you sound like me. I went to college for two years, and am only a few credits away from having an associates degree in the IT field (unix/linux server specialist). I really oughta go back and actually get the peice of paper as a fall back, but I dropped out because I hated doing my hobby for a living. Not to mention, the IT field is soooo saturated now, that it's actually pretty hard to find jobs. Any favorite car/dream car?

My title is 'Business Technology Instructor' but really I teach people with disabilities and people from disadvantaged backgrounds clerical skills and soft skills so they can be successful on a job.

My degree is Interior Design and I'd love to do more with that someday but for now I live in an area where there is little demand for that. Gosh...I'd even take a job running an office for an Interior Designer! My ultimate goal is house wife, err...domestic engineer. I ache for that some days. It's just not time yet. But my office is cool. We're a good team and I've known my co-workers longer than I've been working. Plus I work with my mother so I get to see her every day. That's a good thing for us!

Thats so cool that you're becoming a mechanic!

Around here you don't see many women working on cars, at least not around our dealership!

I think its awesome!

I interviewed for a position doing exactly the same thing. I think they hired someone more experienced at that time, which was fine with me. I know I'm much happier where I am now. I'd have gone nuts with all thoes men they had working there...no girls to yack with!

Oh thats the fun part of the job

I work in the BS with 13 men - its really quite interesting - I really do love working with all the guys, they are so protective of me. If a customer is very rude, and one of them is in the office @ the time, they will come in afterwards and make sure that I'm okay, or offer to buy some chocolate out of the vending machine to make me feel better

There is one of my good friends (girls) that works down in the main Dealership, we talk during the day, which is great, cuz its nice to have at least ONE female to chat with during the day!

There are actually only 3 females that work in the whole dealership (2 in the main office, and me in the BS!)

I get along better with men than I do girls anyways!
So I guess this works in my favor

Oh not me! My office is all female and usually all of my student's are female. It's compeletely awkward when guys are there. Not that I'm sexist or anything, it just changes conversations and everything.

I wish there were more girls in my office! There's only one other girl right now, the third girl is leaving to go on maternity leave, which leaves the two of us alone with at least 4 guys, not counting the tech guys who come through every once in awhile.
The other day, when we were talking about hiring some new people, I was like "Hey, could we maybe hire another woman, cause it's kind of a sausage fest around here!!!"
