Clancy is a cute Irish name. It means "red-haired warrior." I think it is usually a male name, but I know that it is also used for girls. Ayden is a unisex Scottish name that means "little fire."

Here are some more redhead names:

Poppy--a bright red flower
Rory--means "red king" but often used as a girl's name
Rowan (or Rowen)--Gaelic name that means "little redhead" or "little red one." I actually know a little human red haired girl named Rowan. I guess that is why her parents named her that-very cute and very fitting!

Shania? Shania Twain is a country western/ Canadian singer. That's killing two birds with one stone!
Sorrel is reddish coat color on a horse. That fits the western/ranching theme.

She said that she could not name the kitten Amber because she had a sister-in-law named Amber that lost her life in a flood, and it would upset her husband.

No problem. I'm sure she understands. There are a lot of posts in this thread and a lot of people trying to help name this kitten!

I'm like a bride trying on wedding dresses waiting forthat Aaah Ha! moment.

She is soo elegant too!
Adora is just like her. Adroble.

I've thought that since orange tabbies are rarely females, names inspired by precious stones might fit her:
Aghathé (or Aga)
Andesia
Carnelia
Almandie

Or names for sun:
Gayora
Surya
Aaditya
Dysis
Eleanor
Kalinda
Kyra
Ryah
Soleil

... oh don't let the pictures fool ya. There is NOTHING elegant about this kitten. She's like a bull in a china shop! And she'll take on my adult boys who are easily five or six times her size. She runs through the house like her tails on fire. She's a tomboy! She might look cute and cuddly but pretty much the only time she cuddles now is when she's played herself out lol.

That's a name I thought of this morning! And Gypsy... I like that too. Maybe in honor of her Moms almost 1100 kilometer trip to live with my mom in law at the ranch.
