These beautiful Monarchs were in my garden this morning landing all over the flowers AND me!

They even graciously posed for a photo shoot!

Let me know which one you think is best, I was thinking of entering one in my local papers spring photo contest!

Thanks!!

I like the first one as the greenery looks really lush. But the second ones beautiful too.

They are gorgeous creatures!

I like the third one best.

Nice centering of the focal point, plus the abundance of colors.

Great pictures! I prefer the first two because the butterfly isn't blurred at all.

If you like butterflies, try to get to Key West, as there is a fantastic indoor butterfly garden there. Dozens of different species....worth the trip if you're ever there...

Wow-those all are awesome
But I am going to have to go with the first photo. I love butterflies as well, and I have been seeing many monarchs around here.
I just wish they would land long enough to strike a pose for me!!

These are beautiful photos!!! I pick #1 and #2. I made a little adjustments, hope you don't mind. If you do not like them, please let admin delete them. They are just too beautiful, can't resist... Good luck on photo contest entry.

Sorry, I should have asked for permission first..Please let admin delete them if you don't like them.

Thanks watchcaddy, I have photoshop, but I haven't really figured out how to use it properly. Would you care to pm me and tell me exactly what you did to make them look like this? Thanks so much!

Oh, I LOVE the monarchs!! They migrate thru our area each spring. And - this brings tears to my eyes thinking about their noble journey- the generation that flies through here has to travel across the Mojave desert (think high winds that shred tiny wings with blowing sand) and up the Eastern Sierra (freezing temps & snow till May/June) until they reach Nevada to lay their eggs, so the next generation can fly on up north to Canada. It's a real miracle!!
