how to get Oberon to purr?

yay! He vibrates!
I knew he loved me...it's just so rare that I actually have time to sit down, so he can sit on me and head-butt and do his vibrate thing.
I missed my cats purring so much. She passed in June. She used to lay near my head at night and the sound of her gentle purring would lull me to sleep. Understand that I have horrible insomnia my whole life. She was an angel to me. I think about her and my heart aches. So today I checked on YouTube and found a 10 hour clip of a cat purring!! It helps me fall asleep again. I don't have the link but if you are interested just search on cat purring.
I've read that the purring is like a cat's way of telling you she wants something to continue or that she means no harm. So when she's approaching you purring she's not gonna tackle you, so you can relax. Or if you pet her she wants that to continue, same for if she is laying peacefully. It wouldn't surprise me if some cats don't purr since it's a communication tool and they all communicate differently.
