Verizon Yahoo DSL. $14.95/mo. plus tax. $7.00/mo. less than what I paid for Earthlink dial-up. Slower than cable, perhaps, but plenty fast enough for me.

Check Mstar's Utopia site for availability in your area.
It's way faster than cable and about half the price.

Thanks!
Just checked that site out... looks like the Riverton/SJ area is considered a "Class III" city, so construction for service won't start for quite some time...

We called and got on their notify list.
It's in Orem, but isn't yet east of State street

We'll be switching as soon as they are in our neighborhhod.

MIL has it, it is fast.

I will have to call and see what their plans are. Looking closer, they only mention Riverton as participating... I'm 2 houses down in SJ so hopefully they'll still let me get it!

WOW cable internet here. Had RR before, but WOW is $20 less per month.

The thing that gets me is cable internet is running into your home on the same connection as your cable TV...and there's a seperate charge for this that costs MORE? That's why I chose WOW, they give you a discount the more services you have.

I have yahooDSL BUT my Mail is slower than molasses in january! I call and complain but they keep saying nothing is wrong.

Today I changed over from yahoo.com to sbcglobal.net and tech said it woudl be much faster that way! HA! Still slow.

I have 4 days to decide if I want to continue yahoo (they are offering a higher speed for the same $22.00 a month if I take it for a year) OR SWITCH to Earthlink for the same price IF I take it for a year!

don't know what to do!

Loveallcats, do you have your mail on yahoo too? Do you find it takes forever to get into it and to delete messages?

After 6 years of Cable, we moved to the middle of nowhere and have dial-up

We could get satellite internet, if we were staying here, but since we don't know what's up with our landlord, we're kind of stuck. Cable and DSL are not options up here at 8000 ft.

Thank god I have broadband at work!
