I can relate. We have to get the Prescription Diet CD for Stretch, and the ZD for the other four. Its $100 each for the 17 pound bag from Chewy. Yeah, it gets expensive, but it's what they need, so it's what they get.
Oh I have SO been there. That is the reason I got YOUNG ones this time around.

Actually, ours were feral kittens when they came to us. We socialized them, then brought them inside at about 3 to 4 months of age. Some took less time, but that was the average.

You have a heart of GOLD because that is work! I see people do that for shelters and then after all is said and done, have to steel themselves and say 'bye' when they are adopted after all that.

Indeed, it was a lot of work, but here is the payoff:

I can only adopt 1 more cat or i financialy can't afford it. Anual vet bills, premium grain free food (Indy will only eat grain free), it all ads up.
That's something else I need to consider myself. With a house full of seniors, things will probably be getting very expensive. :/ But oh do I have kitten fever. It's been going on for about 40 years now.

Same here! Anallergenic diet for Phoebe ($100 a bag), Amodip pills for her blood pressure (more than $40 a month since her dose increased), Pro Plan for Daisy ($50 a bag) and Cisapride ($100 a bottle every fifty days). Those two little freeloaders are the ones who should get jobs!!
