Hey! First time cat owner here, with quite an interesting story.
I'm 17 now, but for years, I wanted a cat.
My parents are not big fans of cats, but I was sure that if I got one, they would fall in love (as they did with dogs).
My dad told me one day that if I catch a wild cat and tame it, I could keep it.
Well, I eventually found one and did that, but that's another story.
anyway, she came into my life at a rather inconvenient time, since I was going on a week's vacation in two days. I sent her over to my friend's house, since she has had cats and knows more than I do.
Towards the end of vacation, I got a call from my friend saying that my Kitten (I named her Adagio) had tried to jump off the bed, but fell and was not walking much. They thought she might have had Lyme's.
I was very upset because the only way I was allowed to keep her was if I was completely financially responsible for her. I knew how awful and expensive Lyme's is from when my dog Brady had it.
My friend and her mother took her to the vet, and the good news rolled in...
It was not Lyme's, but an upper respiratory infection.
Then the great news...
She's about a month pregnant.
oh boy.
That is the reason I joined this site. I don't know much about cats, and in order to learn, I wanted to talk to people with more experience.
So, please have patience with my lack of knowledge and thanks in advance for all the advice
