I would guess around day 3.  The longer they've had the infection the longer it will take to work.

Weight gains are good news.  Someone else posted about those nipples and said they made a huge difference.

Have you tried putting the kittens in the bathroom and running a hot shower.  The steam will help clear out the sinuses.

At least a couple of days to get into their system enough to fight the bacteria. It also depends on how clogged up they have been.

Are you sure they are not just full when chewing the nipples?

Love the weight gain :).

I did the steamy shower, it helps.
The vet did give me saline to wash their faces and eyes.
One of them seems bloated. I burp them. They pee good, but don't poop as much as they should. I am trying a drop of oil again at the next bottle.

Thank you, they seem less congested now.
And we had poop fest 2015 about 15 minutes ago. The bloated one went and went and went.
They ate less this time, but I can see why.

Since they are so young, we have to stimulate them to go by rubbing.
So it was on the paper I laid down.
They really don't go in the box.

Well, hallelujah! They pooped well. A milestone in kitten land! This is good news and they will surely feel better.

Now, just know that the antibiotic may give them diarrhea next. Or not. Be prepared! :)

Yeah, I found a little mess at our 6 am feeding :(
One of them still looks very bloated. I'm not sure why, I'm not over feeding. I've even went to 3.5 hours or so. They both weigh 9 oz so I've stepped up the amount to 9 mls but added about a half hour longer.
They eat much better. But one guy looks super fat, but it's bloat I'm guessing.
Any advice on this is appreciated.

Baby simethicone. Use a couple of drops.

But he may just have a big tummy. Of my four kittens, one always had a big tummy and there was/is nothing wrong! :)

True.  But the simethicone is a mild preparate, so its just to try out.  You can buy it in your pharmacia, no prescription needed, on the shelf for baby care.

There are also home remedica, on similiar theme, based on herbs.  Essentially a herb tea in its most basic form.  But which one I dont remember.  One of the was foeniculum vulgare

There is just so many health issues with the two babies, I don't know what side is up.
I will try the gas drops though just to see of it helps.
They weighed 8 oz Saturday.
Today they weighed 9.5 oz
And 9.75 oz.
Seems like a huge jump in weight. Haha nervous if they don't gain, nervous if they do.
I'm going koo koo I think.
On a side note even after eye washes one guy doesn't open his eyes much.
The vet said blindness is very possible.

How old are they now?

They are eating and gaining well, which is important. Their URI's should subside with the clavamox.

Even if blind, and we can't be sure yet, he can have a normal life.

Are you getting enough sleep?

When they were brought Thursday, they had open eyes and no sign of a cord at all.
They looked about 2 ish weeks.
Vet said 2 to 2.5 weeks Saturday as well.
I'm guessing coming up on 3 weeks soon.
The one who has the real bad eyes gets around very well.
The other one is pudgy but he gets around very well too. His eyes are not too bad.

I know I'm getting nowhere near enough sleep. I got up 20 minutes late for a feeding last night.

What is the matter with their eyes?

They were clear and now have an infection?

What do their eyes look like? I'm trying to understand what the problem is.

Also, their weights are very good now, so feed them every four hours, so you can get some sleep. You may be able to push them to five or even 6 hours at night if you can manipulate their schedule to where you are feeding them just before you go to bed.

Their eyes are infected. It's the original infection not cleared up yet.
One of them looks much better.
But the other one is always full of puss in his eyes.
I have the ointment and the clavamox and eye wash.
But the one guys eyes are just bad.
He keeps them closed and when he opens them they just look wrong.
I'll try to get a picture after the next wash.

Good to know I will try to time the last feeding at 12 and my husband can check them at 430 when he gets up.
I'm trying so hard to get them healthy and do the right things. So I am asking tons of questions. Thank you for answering them. ♡♡
