The reason I ask is one of mine, Melisse, didn't purr until she was 2 or 3 years old. First of all, she doesn't like to be in our arms and makes disgusted faces at us, miaw desperately like we were torturing her, throw her paws at who passes by like she was asking for help.:laughing::laughing:
Anyway, the first time, we thought we heard her purr, she was bathing in a pool of sun, relaxed, looking happy. I stroke her back and I thought I heard a tiny, tiny purr, but as soon as i felt her throat.. she stopped! Damn it!
Since then, she has been purring more and more (always when she is in the sun or sleeping, sometimes when she is on our knees (but keep in mind that she is the one that chooses to be there, if we take her, she runs...) My husband says that's because she is getting old and I prefer to think that it's because she feels better...
