You guys were close to where I live just outside of Columbus.  We are fortunate to have OSU along with speciality clinics at MEDVET, then there is the one very good Certified Feline Specialist that I PM'd you about.  I know MRI for people are really expensive, that's why  insurance companies require pre authorization unless it's an emergency.  I imagine the same is true for our furry friends.

Yes @denice i really liked the info on Janets website you sent me,thank you again. I saw she also offers house calls. I did fill out the contact form & requested pricing information but we ended up taking him to OSU kind of abruptly.yes the mris are so expensive i wish i had pet insurance on him right now lol.

the nova test is a small version of bloodwork. they should have done a complete blood count and chem analayisis. its not that much more money. infact the nova test is usually for in hospital stays when they just want an abreviated version of bloodwork-basicly a snapshot of the important things-red-white-platelets-and electrolits. sorry for spelling errors-the computer is not automaticly fixing them-just underlines them and right click isnt working. but anyways i really hope your baby gets better. i would ask again about sub fluids now that there is bloodwork done. i have never heard of a vet refusing sub fluids. if anything thats usually the bare minimim treatment if you go into an er vet and cant afford the 2000 dollar bill that they usually slap you with if you opted for iv fluids.

I'm assuming they did the nova test vs cbc bc it's a lot cheaper for them
I'm once again pissed off bc here we are&now he needs more blood work bc I discovered blood in his litter box.a lot of blood.along with great refusal, refusing to take med, hiding,no appetite. I use liners under the litter & theres huge puddles of bright red blood.this picture is from the underneath of the liner so u can't see his waste but I have a pic to show the vet tmrw of these piles of poop that are huge. When I realized the blood,i called and was basically told it could be stress but not that much, and basically he needed the MRI and csf for diagnostics like now.I was shocked and said what could it be I thought cancer isn't likely and the Neuro said this changed things.they offered payment plan/financing with little down.of course they got me,and I agreed.I thought yes finally we will get help for him! .......
& the results showed..
NOTHING.nothing at all.my cats head is bald,he is pooping blood, ive given away thousands and still no one knows anything.
the Neuro emailed me &said he has blood work tomorrow, and I said what blood work she said lead levels, bile acids, and urinalysis.we talked about lead toxicity while we were there and decided that the odds of him ingesting anything let alone lead were slim to none,so I'm not sure what is going to happen next but I know that someone had to of missed something somewhere. My husband is pissed and blaming me for getting the MRI and spinal tap bc we will end up paying so much for nothing.
Thanks for the encouraging words guys.this is the end of the road though.
