No. I would cut the cord, and If the placenta does not pass in a little while, I'd take her to a vet. Chances are, she may not be done giving birth, and is just resting. but if the kitten is struggling against the cord to go nurse, I'd cut it.Originally Posted by Momof3Cats&Kids

She just seems exhausted. Her stomach keeps trying to push the placenta out but it's not coming out. She's very relaxed and purring and doesn't seem to be in distress at all. I'm going to go sterilize some scissors and cut it.
