this has only been the past year (we have only had him a year). since he has been fixed in the past 6 months he no longer stalks the door. some times they even play under the door, but we found out that he will still try to go after her. this peeing issue has been since she was a kitten. so for the past 4 years and 7 months. Salem (antagonistic male) is only a little over a year old and we got him at about 6 months old. i dont doupt that he has not helped but the issues have been preexisting him.
Have you had her checked for a uti or other medical problem at the vet? I would also consider medication at this point. An anti-anxiety med from the vet could help to reset this issue.

Can you please help me with my cat, she has this problem.

she is 3 years old

she is neutered

she is inside only

I have another female cat, they get along very well

she eats Meow Mix

they have tested her for a urinary tract infection

we have two litter boxes for one for each cat

we use tightly cats

we don't really scoop it that often, maybe once a week.

you might try scooping 2 x a day=before u go to work and before bed==some kitties are VERY picky and hate an unclean litter box.  Just a suggestion.  Not hard to do and it is actually easier to keep the box cleaner if you scoop more often!  I bet it will help like everything!  Let us know if you have luck!

Pet supply stores sell scent emitters that calm. Very clean litter box helps here. We got a puppy and peeing increased. I think stress is a big factor. we also close off the less used rooms which seems to be a favorite with Ellie.

Does you cat use a LITTER TRAY, or go outside?

I saw an amazing article from an Animal Behaviour Specialist who said that poor litter box "maintenance" and filling is often the answer to this issue.

There are TWO things you MUST adhere to:

1. You MUST be festidious about KEEPING the litter box CLEAN and clear AT ALL TIMES!! Changing the litter every few days is just not enough. An offending cat she showed the litter tray of was just totally cleaned out ONCE A WEEK - OMG!! Ideally, you should scoop up the soiled litter part AFTER EACH USE by a cat that has inappropriate toilet behaviour.

2. VERY IMPORTANT....you have to make sure the litter in the tray is DEEP ENOUGH. A simple thing of the cat hitting the bottom of its tray when scraping its litter over his/her deposit can stop a cat using its tray!!

You must INCREASE the litter depth in the tray to AT LEAST 4 inches deep!!

I always clear any Used parts of the litter tray morning and night. Besides, it's a two minute job just to remove a little soiling at a time. You must MAKE THE TIME to do this really simple job!! How would you like to dig around in a dirty toilet each time you needed to use the loo??

Cats may STILL be tempted to pee on a soft item of clothing left on a floor!! If they are passing it, It's handier than travelling over to the litter tray - lol

I hope this helps!!!

I wonder that if you have multiple cats, the litter box is taken or maybe needs a bit of cleaning.

or

the urinary tract infection.

When I got my second cat, he peed on the couch. I have another cat who used the box.

Hope this is helpful.

Well, I just returned from the vet with my cat, there is nothing wrong with him, it's purely related to behavior.

All my cats are neutralized, vaccinated, well feed, litter box cleaned up at least twice a day.

I have two cats that loves me, Bells and Cappuccino, Bells mostly stays outside my bedroom because Cappuccino is a brat, he doesn't leave her alone and keeps "attacking"/playing with her, she is six years old and the smartest cat I've known in my life. Cappuccino is just over a year old.

Except Bells sprays everything and she is female, she haunts me wherever I go and doesn't miss a chance to pee on objects that feels strange to her or if any cat has been around, highly territorial. She tends to ignore most cats though but doesn't hesitate to fight back, and when she does, it's generally deadly - literally.

Now Cappuccino after a bit over a year begun to pee on clothes and on my bed, it's terrible! I suspect he's jealous of Bells even if I keep them separated because *he* doesn't get along well with her, I'm sure he can smell her scent on my clothes or something like that, now I have a stinky bed, he completely ignores the litter box for number one.

It's a big problem and I'm sure it's territorial, it's really stressful, I'm not sure how long he'll keep doing it.

I have tried everything to get them both get along but Cappuccino just can't leave any cat alone, keeps bothering them and it doesn't end well (for him). I'll have to live with it

Do you tend to leave your clothes out? You might want to put them away in a bin or closet for the time being. Have you tried maybe doing a re-introduction of the two, if you think it has to do with issues with the two kitties? Although that doesn't really fix the problem of the first one that peed around the house.

How many litter boxes do you have? Have you tried switching to a different cat litter after the peeing started? Or did you change to a different cat litter before the peeing started? Not saying it's definitely litter box related, but it often has some part.

For Maple, I had to get a big litter box. I made my own out of a 30-gallon bin. Then loaded it up with Cat Attract litter. It seemed to help, but not all the time. We ultimately put her on Prozac and she's been doing great ever since. I've actually gotten her down to only taking it every other day at this point, which I think I will leave it at that from here on out (she's 15). She had a lot of litter box anxiety so in addition to that, I made sure there was no top on it.
